ALF Oregon Board News - We owe a special thanks to Joe Gallegos (Class 17) and Avel Gordly (Class 3) for their dedicated service to ALF Oregon as board members over the last several years. Joe served on the ALF board for 6 years, the last two as board chair. Avel also served as a board officer this past year.
ALF also welcomed Anthony Veliz (Class 15) as a new board member at their meeting earlier this month.
New board officers were elected at the December meeting:

- Dave Weber (Class 20), Secretary

Opportunities of Interest
Understanding the Link between Leadership, Organizational Culture and Innovation Lecture: Craig Trames (Class 16) has forwarded this opportunity being co-hosted by his company, the Coraggio Group, along with UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and Wieden+Kennedy. This lecture will be held on January 12 at Wieden+Kennedy’s Pearl District offices from 6:00 to 8:00pm, and features Dr. Jenny Chatman, who is internationally recognized for her work in the fields of leadership and organizational development. Dr. Chatman will share her latest research on the influence that leadership and organizational culture play within the world’s most innovative companies.

Fellows Program News
ALF Class 26 met at the Douglas County Museum in Roseburg for their December session, hosted by local class member Mickey Beach (Neighborworks Umpqua). The session topic was Systems Thinking, aka “Meeting Today’s Challenges Through the Art of Perceiving Reality” facilitated by Pamela Morgan (ALF Class 10) and her associate, Beatrice Benne. Class members were treated to a special performance at their check-in dinner by Mick (pictured in center at left), his band “The Other Brothers" and two of his
classmates who joined in the jam – Elliot Mainzer on saxophone and Tricia Snell on flute.

Class 25 Begins Recruiting for Juvenile Justice Collaboration Lab
Recruitment has commenced for the pilot program focusing on the Juvenile Justice system in Oregon. If you have someone you’d like to recommend for the Juvenile Justice Collaboration Lab, contact Robin in the ALF office.

Checking-In:
Jeff Allen (Class XIX): Jeff was named as the first official executive director for “Drive Oregon”, an electric vehicle industry association, which will be based in space leased by Portland State University. Most recently Jeff was the acting director of the Medford-based Sustainable Valley Technology Group, and also spent 10 years as executive director of the Oregon Environmental Council. Ollie Smith (Class VI): Ollie passed away on November 23. His memorial service was held on December 8 at the East Hill Church in Gresham. Perhaps Mary Ann Buchanan, former ALF director said it simply best: “Ollie was a good man, and the world needs more like him.”
Mac Prichard (Class XXVI): Mac’s famous “Mac’s List” was featured in a recent issue of Oregon Business magazine. Mac’s List is a weekly newsletter of job postings that goes to nearly 9,000 subscribers. Mac owns Prichard Communications, a Portland public relations and social media agency.
