Class 26 Completes Week at Mt. Adams

The 23 members of ALF Class 26 began their community building process during a week of perfect weather at the Flying L Ranch/Mt. Adams Lodge from August 14th through 19th.  The unusual amount of snow still on the mountain did not deter the intrepid ALF class, who were rewarded for their efforts to both a front-row view of the spectacularly blue-green glacial lake, and a large family of mountain goats (including several babies) just off the moraine.

The class will meet again next month in Hood River, hosted by classmates Nick Walrod (Dancing Moon Farms) and Peter Cornelison (Friends of the Columbia Gorge).

Class 25 Selects ALF Juvenile Justice Program as Class Project

ALF Class 25 is planning their project, selected earlier this summer to involve partnering with the ALF organization in implementing a sector-specific program focused on the juvenile justice sector in Oregon.  Class members are in the process of developing a stakeholder map of leaders in Oregon's juvenile justice system, and will be taking the responsibility for recruiting class members and mentoring them throughout their one-year ALF experience. The sector-specific class will begin April 2012 and conclude the following March (2013) with a project featuring collaboration on an agreed upon change initiative that has a significant impact on Oregon's juvenile justice system.  Any ALF Senior Fellow interested in supporting this effort is invited to contact Robin at the ALF office for more information.
